Sarah Palin

To say I am unamused with McCain's choice for a running mate would be understating the point. Shouldn't I, as a feminist, be thrilled that he's chosen a woman? No, not at all. The more I read about Palin, the more obvious it becomes that she may be a woman, but she is not for women. She's exceptionally conservative, anti-evolution, anti-gay marriage, anti-choice... McCain is smart, though, I'll give him that, but can't we all see through this as an obvious ploy to pull in those scary Hillary supporters for McCain folks or, at least, make us think he'll be able to pull in disgruntled Hillary supporters.

Want more information? See more in-depth articles in the New York Times or CNN.com or The Washington Post. Or get your information from the horse's mouth and decide for yourself at Sarah Palin's website (although at the time of this posting, her website was down, probably because every person in America is trying to look at it).

McCain seems to think he can get "feminists" to vote in an administration that will overturn Roe v. Wade (which, without a doubt, WILL happen if McCain is elected). What I'm interested in is the reactions of the hardcore Christian fundamentalists who are such an essential part of the Republican base--I'm related to a lot of these people, and recently had to sit through a weddings which was like a rally against gender equality. I'd think it's going to be awfully difficult for these folks to make a female commander in chief jibe with their ideal of submissive womanhood....

There are still those few (need I add, insane) Hillary-supporters-for-McCain folks, and, while I think the media blew their presence out of proportions, they're actually out there. I can only hope you're right -- it's what I want to believe. I hope that McCain thought he was being clever by choosing a woman but that it will, in fact, backfire horribly in his face.

Why is Sarah Palin the worst VP candidate ever? Check out The Huffington Post.

Palin is a colluder of the worst sort and sickens me that I have to defend her against sexism. This woman and party that is so anti-woman is now screaming about sexism, it makes me sick.
